Pontivy – 18 kms: An attractive and historic town with its castle, the Napoleon Bonaparte legacy including the important Nantes to Brest canal. You’ll find the tourist office, conveniently situated, on the duchesse Anne barge.
Les forges des Salles -13 kms : a former iron working foundry on the edge of the forest of Quénecan is today a museum with reconstructed village showing an important piece of local social history.

Bon Repos - 21 kms : Restored Cistercien abbey on the banks of the Nantes to Brest canal.
Guéméné – 6kms: ‘Une petite cité de caractère, with its ramparts, museum with the queen’s baths and famous for its andouille sausage

You can do many walks simply starting out from our home and exploring the local area
Further away is the lake of Guérlédan 27 km – there are walks all the way around the lake, canoeing and mountain biking and you can swim in the lake.
You can hire a mountain bike/electric bike in Pontivy (eg Giant) and in Plélauf by the canal. You can have fun cycling along the Nantes-Brest canal, accessing it in Pontivy or other places such as Neuillac.
There is an indoor swimming pool with sauna and steam room in Gouarec, 16 kms and in Pontivy at Spadium. Pontivy also has an outdoor pool 50m long called la Plage.
Many cultural events and festivals take place throughout the year in Central Brittany. The Breton music and dance scene is very vibrant with frequent Fest Noz. There is also a big, yearly music festival in Carhaix. Please see calendar dates for further info
